Q: What does a pet sitter do?
A: Caring pet owners know that most pets adjust better to their owner’s absence and experience less anxiety and stress when they can remain in their home environments.  Pet sitters make this possible with daily visits to your home.  In addition to meals, exercise, playtime, and cleaning litter boxes or cages, professional pet sitters may also administer medications, walk dogs, and perform other pet-care duties.  That’s why in-home pet care is the choice of pet owners and the “pet-preferred” method of vacation and travel care.  Pet sitters may also provide vital home-care services while you are away, including mail or newspaper pick up, placing trash outside for pickup or rotating the lights and opening or closing the blinds to make your house look lived in. A professional pet sitter provides peace of mind for everyone.

Q: Why Should I hire a professional?
A: Professional pet sitters are just what the description implies – professional.  While having friends, family, or neighbors care for your pets may seem like a logical choice, professional pet sitters do this for a living and have the experience necessary to care for your animals.  This means that you can trust us to act responsibly when we enter your home.  Since this is our job, you can count on us to be there.

Q: What are the advantages of having a pet sitter?
A:  For your pet:
  • Reduced Stress.  Your pet stays in its own familiar secure environment where all the sights, smells and sounds say “Home!”
  • Diet and Exercise.  Customary diet and exercise routines are followed, with no interruption to upset your pet.
  • No “Travel Trauma.”  Travel in a vehicle to boarding facility or kennel may upset your pet.
  • Health Concerns.  With a pet sitter, there is minimal exposure to illness of other animals.
  • TLC.  Most importantly, your pet receives love and personal attention while you are away.
For you:
  • Travel.  You won’t be inconvenienced or upset by transporting your pet.
  • No Imposition.  You don’t have to impose on a friend, neighbor or relative to care for your pet, but instead rely on a pet care professional who will put you pet’s needs first.
  • Security.  Your home is made more secure by the crime deterrent services provided by most pet-sitting services.
  • Peace of Mind.  While you’re away, you can feel confident your pet is in capable, caring hands.
  • Special Services.  Pet sitters can provide additional home services while caring for your pet, such as  bringing in the mail and newspaper.
 
Q: Do you come to my house or do I need to drop off my pet?
A: The convenience of Woof n Wag is that we come to you! No worrying that you may not make it in time to pick up your pet because they will be home happily awaiting your arrival. Our in-home pet sitting allows your pet to stay in the comfort and security of their own home. We always make sure that you have made it home when planned and if not we will continue to care for your pet until you can. The wellbeing of your pet comes first, always.

Q: How do I sign up for service?
A: You can fill out our service request form by clicking here or calling us at 617-309-7619 or email at contactus@woof-nwag.com. We will contact you with-in 24 hours and schedule a meet and greet at your convenience at your home prior to service so we can meet you and your pet, gather all necessary care information for your pet, go over our service agreement, take possession of keys or entry info and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Once you are a member of the Woof N Wag you come first and we guarantee availability for you if given at least 72 hours notice.

Q: I have already referred someone but I know of many others who need your service. Do I still get rewarded for more referrals?
A: Yes! Our Pack Referrals Program rewards you with one free service for everyone you refer and joins the pack. These are unlimited and never expire. We believe the best way to grow our business is through happy customers.

Q: How can you guarantee availability?
A: We put our pack members first. Once you become a pack member by signing a service agreement, filling out a pet information sheet and providing us access to your home, we will always make room in our schedule for you as long as you give us 72 hours notice. Just give us a call or email and we will get you scheduled!

Q: Do I need to have a meet-and greet each time I need service?
A: Nope. Once we have a service agreement, all of your pet’s info and access to your home on file all you need to do is call or email and we will put you on our schedule. We only need 72 hours to guarantee availability so you can make last minute plans stress free. If an emergency arises and you cannot give 72 hours notice, we will do everything in our power to make sure your pet is cared for while you take care of the emergency. Your pet’s welfare always comes first.

Q: How do you get access to my home and is it safe?
A: At our initial meet-and-greet you provide us with two copies of your key that we keep securely on file at our office, one for everyday use and one for emergencies, or in a lock box at your home. Your keys are coded with no reference to addresses and kept in a secure locked area in our office. In the unlikely event that your key is lost or stolen our liability insurance covers replacement of the locks in your home by a licensed locksmith.

Q: How do I pay you?
A: We accept cash, checks made payable to Woof n Wag and Venmo. We invoice every two weeks for regular services such as dog walking, potty breaks, puppy care and dog park adventures. Payment is due upon the next scheduled service or within 5 days of invoice date, whichever comes first. Pet Sitting fees are invoiced during our last visit before you return. Payment is due within 5 days of invoice.

Q: What if my pet becomes sick or injured?
A: At our meet-and-greet we will go over your pet’s veterinarian information and ask you to sign an emergency release allowing Woof n Wag to make the judgment regarding your pet’s condition and to take your pet to the veterinarian or emergency care if their regular veterinarian is not available. We will first try to contact you via emergency numbers on file but reserve the right to seek care for your pet if we cannot reach you. Your pet’s welfare always comes first.

Q: Do you administer medication?
A: Yes, we can administer pills, drops and injections as long as your pet does not pose as a danger to our pet sitter.

Q: Will we have the same pet sitter every time?
A: Woof n Wag believes in developing a bond between your pet and pet sitter so that they are not as stressed when you have to leave them. Your pet will have the same sitter for the duration of each scheduled service unless there is an emergency. In case of an emergency we have back up sitters who will be sure your pet is cared for. We will also do our best to provide you with the same sitter each time you request service. If we can’t, we will introduce the new sitter to you and your pet prior to your departure to be sure everyone is comfortable with the new arrangements.

Q: What if I am not comfortable with or do not like our pet sitter.
A: The moment you feel uncomfortable please let us know! You will not hurt our feelings. Just contact Woof n Wag Pack Leader, Deb Compagnone at deb@woof-n-wag.com or call her at 617-309-7619 and she will arrange a new sitter. We realize this is a very personal service and you are allowing us into your home and to care for your beloved pet. We want you to be comfortable and happy with those you are entrusting with the care of your pet and access to your home.

Q: Is it acceptable to offer gratuity to our pet sitter or dog walker.
A: Absolutely! You may offer gratuity directly to your pet sitter or add it to you payment. 100% will go to your sitter.
